When it comes to choosing rugged mobile devices, the team at New Zealand Steel have found a ‘sure-fire solution’.

New Zealand Steel has invested in suite of rugged field computers from LXE Honeywell, for use on-site at their Glenbrook steel mill.

About New Zealand Steel

A wholly-owned subsidiary of BlueScope Steel Limited, New Zealand Steel is the world’s only producer of steel from iron sand. The iron sand comes from the Waikato North Head mine site, just south of the Glenbrook mill near Waiuku in Auckland’s rural south.

At Glenbrook, the iron sand is melted into slabs of steel, weighing approximately 10 tonnes, and then rolled into hot and cold-rolled products.

These are then on-sold or further processed at the mill into products such as hollow sections, galvanized steel, ZINCALUME® steel and COLORSTEEL® roofing.
